We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Head of Development to lead our software development team, deliver cutting-edge solutions, and shape the future of Novicell’s technology landscape.

We are about 30 good people in our London office, and you will also have over 330 great colleagues across 7 offices in 5 countries. Our offices are in London, Barcelona, Copenhagen, Aarhus, Aalborg, Stockholm, and Oslo.

What you´ll be doing

As the Head of Development, you will:

Strategy and Planning: Ensure we have the right team in place for our current and upcoming projects
Deliveries – Development Team: Increase average hourly and billable rates through effective production, supreme quality, and high customer satisfaction.
UK Team Management: Actively participate in the Novicell UK management team and embody Novicell’s values.
Process & Innovation: Contribute to internal process and systems refinements, drive innovation with new ideas, and manage software adoption.
Development Team Management: Keep the team motivated, identify when new hires are needed together with our COO, ensure the quality of our technical deliveries, hold 1:1s for direct reports, and identify training opportunities.
Hands-On Client Work: Engage directly with clients to understand their needs, provide technical solutions, and ensure successful project delivery.

We are looking for you who is...

A listener who understands both customers and technical teams.
A communicator who can brief teams on the detail and communicate effectively with customers.
A translator who can relay solutions across business verticals.
Experienced with .NET, Vue.js, Azure, and Umbraco CMS.
Skilled in .NET Core/C#, Azure cloud (Azure web apps, Blob storage), DevOps deployment pipelines, Docker containers, and modern search technology (Elastic Cloud, Algolia).

Tech Stack

Excellent .NET Core / C# skills
Experience with Azure cloud (Azure web apps, Blob storage)
Setting up and working with DevOps deployment pipelines
Some experience with Docker containers is preferred
Experience with any modern search technology (Elastic Cloud, Algolia, or others)
Working experience with any CMS (preferably Umbraco)

Practical Information

We are located at 21-33 Great Eastern St, London EC2A 3EJ
The role requires your onsite presence in our office in Shoreditch, London. You will therefore be needing a work visa or Right to Work in the UK.
